The Urban League of Champaign County hosted its 6th Annual ‘Gala Extravaganza’ Friday, November 18, 2005 beginning at 6:30pm at the Holiday Inn located on 1001 Kilarney Street Urbana, IL.  This year’s theme was SOUL TRAIN  focusing on the time period of the ‘70s.  In 1959 the legendary funk band, known as the Ohio Untouchables, came to be known as The Ohio Players. This world class musical talent evolved into a virtual ‘hit making machine’ with hits such as ‘Love Rollercoaster’, ‘Fire’, ‘O-H-I-O’, ‘Skin Tight’

Silent Auction

The Silent Auction, which is held in conjunction with the Gala, was comprised of various gifts donated by local Champaign-Urbana businesses. Auction items this year included two original portraits, a suite package from Eastland Suites, and a gift certificate from UpClose Printing. These are just a few of the items offered at this year's Gala.
