... Momentum, Summer 2003, Vol. 6, No 1 ... The League Receives 4-Star Rating. The National Urban League has received a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent evaluator of charities. The 4-star rating - the highest rating given by the group - means an organization exceeds industry standards and outperforms most comparable charities in the area of strong fiscal management.

Charity Navigator evaluates some 2100 charities; financial health in the areas of organizational efficiency and organizational capacity. The ratings are meant to demonstrate how efficiently they believe a charity will use their support, and capacity for longterm growth in the areas of programs and services. Much of the group's rating system is aimed at providing donors with information on how prudently organizations are using their monies, and capacity to survive a changing economy.
